My first run of many.  I ran 2.25 miles at a 9:00 minute pace.  Not bad for 85 degree heat!!

You got to NC just in time for the summer to start heating up! :-)

Welcome to the blog - you'll find a great network of super nice and very knowledgeable runners on here.

Welcome to the blog! I'm Jake's girlfriend.

It's already 85 degrees in NC?! Summer is starting early.

Wicked excited!!! Nice to "meet" you both.

It was 88 degrees out today.. I ran around 5 o clock.  It felt slightly LESS hot out.  There was a decent breeze and it got cloudy within the first 5 minutes, which was a nice relief.

I ran 2.45 miles and had an average pace of 8:15.  I felt good after the first 5 minutes so I went with it.  I actually got faster as the run progressed.  GO ME!

OH, side note, got a pedicure today, with lots of massage, maybe that had something to do with it?  Also, two beeps and a yeaaaaaah driving by.. that's always encouraging haha.

It was way too hot out, so I made the mistake of running on a treadmill at the gym.  Ugh.  YUCK.  Felt like crap, couldn't find my groove.  Ran 2.2 miles at an 8:50 pace.  Crap wednesday.  Might have to suck it up and run at 8pm tomorrow night, around and around my apartment complex.

Just think of how nice that cool fall weather is going to feel after you pay your dues all summer in the sweltering heat! A winter marathon will be a breeze! :-)

Great job for doing your workout! Sometimes it feels easier to do nothing. The reward after a run is far better than never getting it done.

Welcome to the blog!

No run today.. day off.  Didn't want to over do it.

Set my Nike+ ipod to a 5k.  I ran in the indoor track at the YMCA.  I have to start taking advantage of the free daycare and working out during the day. They do have an outside track.. it's umm, well questionable at best.  I'll check it out a bit better this weekend.

I get cramps under my ribcage on both sides whenever I start a run.  Any suggestions on how to avoid these would be greatly appreciated.

Today's run stats 5k, 8:10 over all pace.  Yeah me!

cramps are always a variable that is hard to figure out the exact cause of... give it a little time, they might just start to go away on their own... maybe someone else can chime in w/ their experiences...

Was busy all day... thought about not running.  Decided after I got little one down for the night to take a 2 mile jog.  Better than nothing.  It was refreshing, the temperature anyways.  Only 80, with a slight breeze.  Ran around and around the parking lot.. no fun.  Pace, 7:42.  Happy with that I suppose.  Can't get rid of this cramp in my left side.

No actual run today but played soccer tonight.  82 degrees, ran my ass off.  Felt 10x better than last week.  GO ME.  This week's goal is to be running no less than 3 miles per run.

Soccer is cross-training to the extreme! Lots of sprinting - that's good.

I think that is a great goal for the week - get the average daily run distance up just a little bit.

Rough day with my little girl.  She's getting sick..  = no running time for mommy.

Having a rough two weeks here.. .little one is just starting to kick her wicked cold.  Trying to figure out how I'll be able to handle this, god forbid she gets sick again, without losing all this time running.  This is going to be more challenging than I thought.

Im gonna chalk up this week as a total loss.  My daughter got sick starting on monday, and I was soon to follow.  She is still sick (poor kid) and Im starting to feel better.  Hoping to pick up where I left off next week.

SUCKS

sorry you both got sick. you'll pick it right back up - sometimes a little break is good for the body, even though it seems like it stinks.

Yup, I had a chance to get back out there.  Felt so-so... 8:15 pace.  Not bad for two weeks off I suppose.  Plus the weather was a bit more bareable.. 78 degrees, no humidity.  Making a trip up north... can't wait to run in Saratoga.

Nice job getting back out there.

Setbacks are part of the process. Its how you respond to them that matters.
